It was found that a highly significant (P<0.01) was obtained for the hatch effect while non-significant (P>0.05) was obtained for the cross effect. When analyse for GCA and SCA of both traits, a highly significant (P<0.05) were shown except for the SCA of the Z1 trait. Of these six layers breed, breed A manifested the highest of estimated GCA effect as 0.07571 for Z1 and 0.07508 for Z2 whereas breed C had the lowest value of both traits. It means that breed C governed less additive gene effect for body weight than the breed A. The specific combining ability variance (?si2) of breed C was 27.6586 for the Z2 trait which was higher than the other breeds. It indicated that there were specific combinations of breed C certain some breeds which yielded considerably more than that would be expected and other combinations which yielded much less than expected. If it is not considered for the egg production trait, the breed C will be selected because of its low body weight would ensured to save the lower feed cost. |

It was indicated that Duroc was the amallest while Landrace was the largest, however at initial growth phase Large White was larger than Landrace the overall growth curve functions based on simple-linear and simple exponential regression accounted for 98.53 and 96.65% of variability. Furrthermore, the with in breeds and sexes regressions accounted for 96.40 to 99.00% of variability. Prediction of weights at 112 and 168 days were obtained by the forward selection and the stepwise regression procedures which resulted in total R2 0.57 and 0.75 respectively. Prediction of weight from growth curve functions were shown and the application of the results were discussed. |

The average 6 weeks body weight of 745, 1,860, 1,470 and 1,235 progenies from the second, third, fourth and fifth generation were 871.7, 1,057.5, 1,021.8 and 1,205.1 grams comparing with 581.5 grams of the first generation. Except for the first generation, the feed conversion ratio (FCR) in the successive generations were 2.07, 2.06, 2.12 and 2.07, respectively. In five generation period of selection, the average 6 week body weight in the fifth generation was more than the first about 107.2% or 632.8 grams. The heritability value of 6 week body weights in five generation periods were ranged from medium to high as 0.22 to 0.48 the fifth generation had the lowest value (0.22). The genetic correlation (?G) computed from sire component in the first generation between 6 to 9 weeks was the highest value (0.97). From this experimental selection, it was shown that it is possible to establish our own broiler parent stocks by using 6 week body weight as selection criterior. |

Though there is a vast area of land in the country, a large size of it has been left unutilized for the agricultural and other fruitful purposes. The major problems concerning land in Thailand may be seen in various dimension such as a smaller size of land holding for agriculture, a growing number of those agriculturists who have no lands for cultivation, an increasing number of land tenancy, a more serious deforestation and an increasing number of land conflicts. As such, it is necessary to undertake land reform as an important step in sovling the land problem. Thailand’s Land Reform for agriculture started in 1975. The government has made a great effort to solve this problem by setting up Land Reform Office and allotting a huge sum of budget each year for this purpose. Most of Land under land reform project is scattering Throughout the country. In spite of various efforts made to eliminate the land problem, still prevailing some suggestions in order to increase effectiveness in land reform project. The government should be serious and honest in land reform project. People should be understanding, showing readiness and sacrificial to the project. And finally a legal measure should be firm in dealing with this matter. |
